SELINSGROVE — A Valley business was recognized by a national magazine. Fresh Roasted Coffee was number 385 of Inc. Magazine 5,000 fastest-growing businesses in America. Andrew Oakes, owner of the business on South High Street in Selinsgrove, says he has come far since opening in 2009, “I started with one roaster and myself, and we went from nothing to ten thousand orders a month.”
Now fifteen employees work two shifts filling and shipping orders from every state in the union. Most of Fresh Roasted Coffee’s sales happen over the internet. “[The internet] is what we do. Ninety-nine percent of my business is website-based.”
For the future, Oakes expects to build on the success he has found online and hopes to add some more products to his portfolio. “That is my version of the future, and I feel like I’ve got a pretty good handle on the internet. We’ve learned so much, now I just want to keep spinning off.”
