TREVORTON — During the recent Trevorton Fall Festival, longtime firefighter Jim Morrison was recognized for 43 years of service with Trevorton Fire Co. No. 1.
According to the News Item, Morrison received four citations — two from state Representative JoAnne Stehr and two from state Senator Lynda Schlegel Culver. The citations marked Morrison’s service and the fire company’s 125th anniversary.
His son surprised him with a shadow box displaying his chief’s helmet shield and a polished firefighter’s axe.
The News Item reports Morrison recently stepped down as fire chief for health reasons but continues to volunteer and hopes the company’s strong growth continues..
