LEWISBURG – Decades in jail for bad prank…Three Valley men learned their fates Thursday in Union County Court. Dylan Lahr, Tyler Porter and Keefer McGee were sentenced for a rock throwing incident last year that caused severe brain trauma for Sharon Budd.
Dylan Lahr, was sentenced to 54 months to 20 years in prison and was credited with 158 days time already served. Lahr pleaded guilty to four charges including aggravated assault. He asked the Budd family “for forgiveness from the bottom of his heart.”
Tyler Porter was sentenced to 22 months to 10 years in prison followed by 10 years of probation. Porter pleaded no contest to aggravated assault charges. Keefer McGee was sentenced to 11-and-a-half months to 23 months in Union County jail followed by eight years probation. McGee pleaded guilty to a second degree felony of aggravated assault. A fourth man, Brett Lahr, is already serving 18 months to 20 years after pleading no contest to a conspiracy count.
The nearly 5-pound rock crashed through the front windshield of the car in which Budd was riding, striking her directly. She’s already had seven surgeries. Budd was an Ohio schoolteacher and was injured on I-80 as she passed through The Valley. She was in court today for the proceedings. Budd’s husband, Randy, addressed the three boys in court saying, “It’s a life long sentence for Sharon.”
