SELINSGROVE — The Selinsgrove School Board has unanimously approved their budget for the 2015-16 school year and a 2.5 percent property tax increase is anticipated. Business Manager Jeffrey Hummel says the $41.5-million budget includes a 1.58-mill increase to close a $1.3-million shortfall.
The budget is $2.1-million higher than the current budget and includes salary increases for teachers and administrators and two new full-time teaching positions and one part-time position. The final vote on the budget will take place on June 22. Hummel says they will continue to look for ways to trim the projected deficit. (Ali Stevens)
