(AP) – The widow of longtime Penn State football coach Joe Paterno is hailing the NCAA’s action in reinstating her late husband’s 112 wins – but she says she also hopes for exoneration of three former officials. “It’s a great day for Penn State,” Sue Paterno said Friday after the NCAA and university boards approved the agreement lifting the last of the sanctions imposed in 2012 following the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal.
But she said efforts would continue to clear the names of then-president Graham Spanier, former athletic director Tim Curley and former vice president Gary Schultz, who are accused of covering up complaints about Sandusky, a retired defensive coach.
