HUMMELS WHARF – Want to get a taste of delicious craft beers for a good cause? The Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with the Hummels Wharf Fire Company to bring you the “Shady Nook Mini Brew Fest.” The chamber says the event will feature all craft beers and ciders.
Bob Garrett, president and CEOP of the chamber says, “We have 11 breweries and 1 Cidery. We have folks from a few miles away to a few thousand miles away, all craft beers and all carefully made small batches. This brew fest partially comes out of our desire to partner with our small business of the year and see what we can do to help out the fire department.”
Dave Mangus of the Hummels Wharf Fire Company says that they also have several local food vendors to purchase food from, “This is our first one and we’re happy as a fire department to be partnered with the Chamber of Commerce. We think we have a nice lineup of breweries and a great lineup of food. So come on out and enjoy the craft beer and enjoy the food.”
Tickets are $25 and include live entertainment, a souvenir-tasting mug, and beer tasting. The festival will be held Friday at the Hummels Wharf Fire Company starting at 5 p.m. For more information visit www.gsvcc.org (Emily Engle)
