HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – “Low balance,” that’s the word from the Montour County D-A Rebecca Warren. She is among the state candidates reporting their campaign financing information. A republican, Warren is reporting in the latest filing, that she has a near zero balance in her campaign war chest, and loaned the campaign $6,000.
A dozen candidates are running for three open seats on the state Supreme Court. On the Democratic side, Superior Court Judge Christine Donohue reported Friday that she raised $132,000, largely from lawyers. That pushes her total contributions to nearly $340,000 as of the Sunday closeout of the reports.
Among the Republican hopefuls, Superior Court Judge Cheryl Allen’s contributions nudged her fundraising total to $35,000. The latest report included $10,000 from a political committee called Fairness PA. Friday was the first campaign finance deadline since the initial filings a month ago, that showed the candidates had collectively raised about $3 million.
