REBERSBURG – A crash between a truck and a horse-drawn cart leaves one man dead in Rebersburg, Centre County. Troopers from the Rockview barracks say it happened just before 10:00pm Friday on Route 192 when a pick-up truck driven by 47-year-old William Brooks of Rebersburg struck the back of the cart.
31-year-old Elmer Stoltzfus and 75-year-old Elam Stoltzfus were thrown from the cart upon impact. Elam Stoltzfus was pronounced dead at the scene. Elmer Stoltzfus was flown to Geisinger Medical Center where a nursing supervisor says he is in critical condition.
State police say Brooks was uninjured; he was arrested for suspicion of DUI and taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for a blood test. The horse was also killed in the crash. (Jennifer Wakeman)
