NORTHUMBERLAND — Police in Point Township, Northumberland County say it was a Columbia County man who died after a crash on the Barry King Bridge Friday. Officers said Saturday 28-year-old Mark Lovett of Benton died at Geisinger Medical Center.
Police say they still don’t know why Lovett’s car crossed the centerline of the bridge and hit a northbound tractor-trailer head-on. No one else was injured in that collision, the trucker from Port Trevorton was not hurt.
There were injuries in another chain-reaction crash on the bridge. Northumberland police are investigating those collisions, and no details are available as of now.
