Pennsylvanians Receive Letters Notifying Them of Unclaimed Money

HARRISBURG — More than 107,000 Pennsylvanians will soon receive letters notifying them of unclaimed money being returned through the state’s Money Match program.  State Treasurer Stacy Garrity says the initiative is on track to return over $40 million in its first year. Checks for eligible residents will be mailed in mid-December

The program, created under Act 81 of 2024, automatically reunites verified owners with unclaimed property valued up to $500.  Treasury officials estimate one in ten Pennsylvanians is owed unclaimed property and encourage residents to visit patreasury.gov/unclaimed-property.*

*A representative from the Treasurer’s office will be at the DACC  during Veterans Community Day…they’ll be helping everyone find unclaimed property.
