accident

MIDDLEBURG — A Middleburg man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while walking on Route 522 Saturday afternoon.  State police say 50-year-old David Faughnan was walking near Renninger School Road in Franklin Township around 2:15 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Alexis Reid of Middleburg.

Troopers say Reid failed to see a vehicle stopped in front of her and swerved to avoid hitting it, but struck Faughnan instead.  Faughnan was thrown about 20 feet and landed in a yard.  Reid and Faughnan were both transported to Geisinger Medical Center with moderate injuries.  Faughnan is listed in serious condition.  Reid’s condition was not available.  State police say Reid will be charged with speeding and not wearing a seatbelt.  (Ali Stevens)
