WATSONTOWN — A company that will help you save money, an organization that helps businesses grow, and a start-up business owner, were all honored Thursday at the annual meeting of the Central Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber Impact Awards recognize individuals and companies that have a positive impact in The Valley.
Chamber President Bruce Smith said, “What we have found out is our membership does so much for the community as well as the Chamber, and sometimes those stories get lost in the shuffle. So, we really wanted to recognize people that were making an impact, not only with the Chamber, but also to our community. It’s where we live and where we all do business.”
The awards were given to Practical Business Solutions in Shamokin Dam, Annie Izumi, owner of Barn Owl Art Studio in Lewisburg, and Bucknell’s Small Business Development Center. SBDC Director Steve Stumbris accepted the award, “We really appreciate this recognition and it is a pleasure to partner with you in helping businesses in our area.”
Over 180 people packed The Watson Inn for the annual event. This is also a special year for the Chamber, as they are celebrating their 110th anniversary. (Sara Bartlett)
