Journey Bank Brings in NBA Standout Chris Herren

BLOOMSBURG — Journey Bank says former Boston Celtic Chris Herren will speak to nearly 9,000 students at 16 high schools across the region.

Bank officials say Herren will visit schools in December and January to share his story of addiction, recovery, and resilience.

They say Herren last visited eight years ago and left a lasting impact on students and educators. This year’s presentations will focus on wellness, mental health, and healthy decision-making for grades 9–12.

Journey Bank leaders say the program is fully sponsored and closed to the public, with limited access. Benton students will attend a joint session at Millville. Herren will go to Berwick, Bloomsburg, Central Columbia, the school’s Columbia-Montour vo-tech, Warrior Run and others.
