SELINSGROVE — East Snyder Park in Selinsgrove was packed with hundreds of people taking part in Snyder County Night Out on Tuesday. There were dozens of hands on activities for kids to enjoy and families were able to meet local law enforcement officials and explore fire trucks, ambulances and a Life Flight helicopter.
Snyder County Commissioner Peggy Chamberlain Roup was thrilled with the turnout for the 3rd annual event, “It’s a wonderful opportunity for the community to meet all of our emergency personnel throughout Snyder County and interface with them. On top of that, this is an event that is sponsored by the Snyder County Coalition for Kids and I’m so proud to be a member of the community board.”
Snyder County District Attorney Mike Piecuch said, “We’ve been working since January to put this year’s event together. We want to grow it and get bigger and better every year. It’s all about the kids and connecting them with the different organizations in the community and with our law enforcement and first responders.”
There was also a petting zoo, train rides, a bouncy house and slides and lots of free food and information. (Ali Stevens)
