WILLIAMSPORT — The News Item is reporting… Three former Mount Carmel police officers were sentenced for conspiring to violate civil rights of arrestees. Federal Judge Matthew Brann sentenced David Donkochik to seven years, Jonathan McHugh to six years, and Kyle Schauer to four years.
The News Item reports…. Investigators say the men used excessive force between 2018 and 2022, then hid video evidence and falsified reports. Each must report to federal prison Jan. 5 and pay $1,100 in fines. Brann called the actions an abuse of authority that injured multiple victims and betrayed community trust.
