Deputy sheriff denies viewing porn at work

court-hammer-gavel1SUNBURY — A former Northumberland County deputy sheriff denied viewing pornography on his work computer during a trial Monday.  The News Item reports Joseph Jones, who was fired more than five years ago, testified for more than three hours, claiming there was no computer policy in the sheriff’s office when he worked there and employees had access to each other’s user names and passwords.

Jones filed a wrongful termination and defamation lawsuit along with former deputy sheriff Michael Boris, who was also fired.  The suit was filed against Commissioner Vinny Clausi, former Sheriff Chad Reiner and the county.  The trial is expected to last about two weeks.  Boris is expected to testify today.  Jones and Boris are accused of viewing pornography on their work computers in 2009.  (Ali Stevens)
