Barbour withdraws petition for new trial

SUNBURY – It looks like the admitted ‘Craigslist Killer’ won’t have another day in court. Elytte Barbour and his wife Miranda admitted killing 42-year-old Troy LeFerrara in 2013. Monday, Elytte Barbour’s attorney, Richard Feudale withdrew the petition for ‘post-conviction relief.’

In September, Feudale argued that the 23-year-old Barbour had ineffective counsel and should have pleaded guilty but mentally ill. Barbour admitted his role in the November 2013 stabbing death of LeFerrara.

Northumberland County Judge Charles Saylor granted Barbour a hearing in the matter, but the filing Monday effectively discontinues the action. Barbour is serving a life sentence without parole at the State Correctional Institution at Forest County. (Jennifer Wakeman)
