SUNBURY — Sunbury’s police chief is going on medical leave, so an acting chief has been appointed. Chief Brad Hare will be leaving June 17 and returning July 7. While he is out, Corporal Travis Bremigen will serve as acting chief.
Segreant James Taylor is also out on personal leave and won’t return to active duty until July 5. That means the force of 11 officers will be down two officers for about three weeks. Due to budget cuts, Patrolman Corey Zerbe was laid off January 1 and Patrolman Gary Heckman was laid off March 22.
