HARRISBURG — Measles Cases Climb As Snyder County Doubles.

Pennsylvania’s measles outbreak continues growing, with Snyder County now reporting twice as many cases as last week. State health officials say Pennsylvania has recorded 340 cases, including 75 new cases during the past seven days.  Snyder County now has 12 cases, doubling from the six reported last week.

Statewide, 33% of people with measles are under age 18.  Health officials say 62 people have been hospitalized at some point during the outbreak. The latest numbers represent another increase from last week, when Pennsylvania reported 307 cases statewide.  The department says measles is preventable through vaccines.
