LEWISBURG — Helping teens was the mission at the Lewisburg YMCA Tuesday.
More than 130 students from 17 school districts gathered Tuesday at the Lewisburg YMCA’s Miller Center for the Youth Mental Health Summit, hosted by the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit.
The event featured an inspirational keynote, self-care activities, and mental health student groups from each school shared their efforts to promote mental wellness. The keynote speaker, who overcame emotional struggles, encouraged students to embrace self-acceptance and independence.
CSIU’s Erin Demcher emphasized the goal of empowering students with mental health resources, self-care strategies, and the importance of seeking support. An interactive scavenger hunt encouraged students to visit vendor tables and learn about available resources.
