LEWISBURG – There’s a lot to celebrate lately with the Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA’s swimming program. The program is celebrating 100 years, and some current swimmers are is bringing back some medals from the 2023 YMCA National Short Course Championship, .held in Greensboro, NC in early April.
The YMCA says our area was represented by seven swimmers, including Mason Cianflone, Mason Ordonez, Emma Gerlinski, Ryan House, Maria Painter, Brenna Ross, and Kimmy Shannon.
The Y says Shannon took 2nd in the 1000 free and Ross took 8th place in the 100 Breast. Shannon also made the finals in each one of her events, finishing 17th, in the 200 back, 16th in the 200 free, and 18th in the 500 free.
More than 1,200 athletes from 188 teams in 30 states competed.
