Woodbine Lane expansion project gets underway

geisingerDANVILLE — Geisinger Health System’s Woodbine Lane outpatient clinic will soon be twice its size.  Ground was broken Wednesday on a $54-million project at the clinic, which will add a new entrance, parking garage and more office space.

The project is expected to be completed by February 2017 and will add a 135,000-square-foot addition along with renovations to the existing clinic.  The clinic will grow to include orthopaedics, ophthalmology, family medicine and general pediatrics.

Because of the anticipated higher patient volume, Geisinger is working with PennDOT and Mahoning Township officials to complete a traffic study in the area of Route 11 and Woodbine Lane.  An additional lane will be added to Woodbine Lane and the current light will be adjusted with timing changes to accommodate more traffic in the area.  (Ali Stevens)
