Woman resists arrest, officers injured at Watsontown bar

 

WATSONTOWN – Watsontown police say a woman is jailed for theft, resisting arrest and public drunkenness. Officers say the incident occurred Saturday just after 11:30 p.m. near a bar on Main Street.

 

Police say 35-year-old Natalie Shaffer of Watsontown stole something from two vehicles, and as they tried to arrest her, she struggled with officers. That resulted in injuries for the two police officers. Shaffer was eventually taken into custody.

 

Police say Shafer is charged with felony counts of aggravated assault, theft, resisting arrest, and other charges. She is charged with public drunkenness as well.  Shaffer was arraigned and committed to Northumberland County Prison for lack of $75,000 cash bail. Milton state police and Milton Borough Police assisted.
