UPDATE: Traffic is back to normal volume in Northumberland. The utility pole that was damaged this morning has been replaced.
NORTHUMBERLAND – The busy intersection of Fifth and Queen Streets in Northumberland is blocked this morning when a utility pole broke off. Neighbors say the pole has been hit several times lately.
The pole is along the Route 147 detour though the Northumberland, so there are additional delays and back-ups in Northumberland. Give yourself some extra time to travel on Route 147 north and south.
The Duke Street project has traffic detoured onto King and Queen Streets, and this pole down funnels all of the detour traffic onto King Street. There are delays.
