UNDATED — The Valley is in for a frigid day today, following the cold, windy, snowy day Saturday. AccuWeather says the high temperature for today is 10 and the wind chill could make it feel 25-30 below zero. A wind chill warning remains in effect until 10:00a.m. Monday. A warning means exposed skin could be subject to frostbite within 15 minutes.
The high winds could lead to blowing snow, which could make for hazardous travel conditions. The Valley got 1-2″ of snow Saturday night. Most roads are open and passable. Some roads are snow covered and there are areas of drifting in rural spots. PennDOT and local crews are out on the roads this morning. We know of no closed roads.
There are some power outages in Northumberland County. A handful of customers are without power in Upper Augusta Township and Shamokin. PPL is aware of the outages and working on restoration.
