MIDDLEBURG — The Midd-West School District is moving forward with their renovation project at the West Snyder Elementary School in Beaver Springs. The District selected JPB Architects LLC to renovate classrooms, roofing and flooring.
Victor Abate, School Board President, says security is on the top of the list, “The security we want here is the best that we can provide for our students because of its location away from the local authorities and we’re trying to incorporate everything we can here to make sure the students are safe.”
The school board met Thursday at the elementary school to review the project. Abate says they want the public to be made aware, “We want the public to be involved with this. We want the public to have input. We’re holding them up here at West Snyder because this is the building being renovated. It’s a community based school and we want the communities input and we want them to be involved.”
Abate says the taxpayers will not be impacted by the $7.5-million project, since it will be paid for using reserve funding. The board will vote on the project justification for Plan Con A at their next board meeting on May 11th at 7:30. (Lauren Koch)
