MILTON – The Pennsylvania American Water Company Sunday lifted the voluntary conservation notice for many water customers in The Valley. The advisory was issued Friday after an estimated 55,000 gallons of gasoline got into a tributary to Loyalsock Creek, which feeds into the Susquehanna River.
The water company draws water from the river at Milton and said Sunday, that operations there are back to normal and they found no gasoline in the river water.
Additionally Sunday, Governor Tom Wolf, state senator Gene Yaw, and other state officials, toured the hard hit areas of Lycoming and Clinton Counties. He said damage assessments are underway and emergency contracts will be let to rebuild roads and bridges.
