SHAMOKIN DAM — A Washingtonville man is locked up in the Snyder County Prison facing multiple charges for an incident in Shamokin Dam Thursday afternoon. Police were called to the area of Eighth Avenue for a report of a man chasing another man on foot on Routes 11 and 15 around 4:20 p.m. Callers said the man being chased was yelling for help saying he was being attacked.
There was a report that the man may have a gun and they were running near traffic, but no gun was found. The men entered a restaurant and police followed and encountered Jeffrey Guyer Sr., who allegedly fought with police. The victim told police he traveled to Shamokin Dam with Guyer, who started fighting with him. Police impounded the vehicle and methamphetamine was recovered along with drug paraphernalia.
A Shamokin Dam police officer was injured while taking Guyer into custody. He was treated and released at Sunbury Community Hospital. Guyer was arraigned on charges including terroristic threats, drug possession, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia. (Ali Stevens)
