SUNBURY – A vote at a public meeting later this month will decide the fate of Shikellamy High School’s principal, who was suspended on November 21. The Daily Item reports a decision on whether or not Ernie Jackson keeps his job will be made on January 22 at a public board meeting. Five votes will be needed to fire Jackson.
District Superintendent Patrick Kelley has made several charges against Jackson as reasons for termination including allowing carpet to be installed without proper permission and an unreasonable search and seizure of a student’s locker. Jackson has been without pay and health benefits since his suspension. (Ali Stevens)
