Volunteers Needed for Last Step of Wreaths Across America Effort

DANVILLE – The last step of Wreaths Across America is coming up.

Volunteers are needed to help remove wreaths from veterans’ graves as part of Wreaths Across America’s annual clean-up effort. The event is set for March 1 at 8 a.m., covering all cemeteries in Danville.

Organizers say the clean-up is more than just an end to the season—it is all part of the heartfelt tribute to the men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces. Each wreath was placed in December as a symbol of remembrance, and now, with the same care and respect, they will be removed.

Organizers are asking for community support to ensure a dignified clean-up of the 2,750 wreaths placed to honor local veterans. JDog Junk Removal will assist by collecting and recycling the wreaths.

Organizers say Wreaths Across America in Montour County relies on year-round fundraising to make this tribute possible each December. Volunteers are encouraged to help continue this tradition of honoring, teaching, and remembering those who served. There is more information on their Facebook page.
