MUNCY – Raise the Region kicked off Wednesday. It’s the chance to donate to over 260 nonprofits in Snyder, Union, Northumerland, Montour, Columbia and Lycoming Counties. Online donations will be accepted through 11:59p.m. Thursday.
About 400 people were in attendance at the official kickoff at Blaise Alexander Chevrolet Buick Wednesday in Muncy. The family car dealership will contribute $150,000 as ‘stretch funds’ to nonprofits as donations come in.
During the 30-hour event, there are several cash prizes awarded to the nonprofits as well. You can check out the leaderboard and donate at raisetheregion.org. (Sara Bartlett)
