Victor Hare sends child death charges to court

HareMILTON — A Northumberland man charged with involuntary manslaughter, following the death of a 9-year-old boy, has sent all criminal charges against him to court.  59-year-old Victor Hare was scheduled in court Tuesday before District Judge Michael Diehl, but chose to waive his preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

Police say Hare gave oxycodone to 9-year-old Korbin Rager while the boy was in his care.  Rager was found unresponsive on October 13, 2014 at Hare’s home.  Rager was pronounced dead and an autopsy concluded Rager died from a drug overdose.

Hare has also been charged with drug delivery resulting in death, aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, indecent assault and reckless endangerment.  He waived all charges to court.  Hare remains incarcerated at SCI-Coal Township.  (Ali Stevens)
