SUNBURY –Two Valley universities will face off to support breast cancer awareness. The Susquehanna University River Hawks will play against the Bucknell University Bison in the first Pink at the Rink.
Cheryl Delsite describes the event, “We are having a Pink at the Rink hockey game between Susquehanna University and Bucknell University on October 30 at 4:00 p.m. at the Sunbury ice rink.”
Delsite says all the event’s proceeds will benefit the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, “We’re going to a have Chinese auction, and we made t-shirts. We can pre-order those, if you would like. Admission is $5.00 and all the proceeds will benefit the coalition.”
Delsite says it was the Bucknell team’s idea for the event, “The Bucknell captain approached our ice rink manager and asked if they could do a pink game. They were just going to play a hockey game and they said if the rink would like to add more to it, we could just run with it.”
Pink at the Rink will take place at the Sunbury Youth Community Center Ice Rink at 4:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5.00.
