UNDATED – A Valley community leader has died–Guy Temple of Union County died Thursday evening, he was 84.  Temple spent nearly 40 years with the Penn State Cooperative Extension, and was a very active volunteer in the community.

He was a longtime member of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce and was one of the founders of Leadership Susquehanna Valley.  At the chamber’s annual awards Thursday, chamber officials gave Temple a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Accepting the award was his wife Jan, “I wish he could be here.  He loved his Valley and all the things that you all stand for.  He was especially proud of the leadership program and working in the ag committee, because his one fear was that people are forgetting where our food comes from.”

Guy Temple was also a fixture on WKOK–for 15-years, he and other leaders of the agriculture and agriculture committee were on our public affairs programs talking about the importance of, and information about, agriculture. Guy Temple was a Korean War Veteran.  Funeral arrangements are being completed. (Sara Bartlett)
