Valley Libertarians hosting informational event

SUNBURY – In this election year, many Americans are talking about a third party candidate for President. The Libertarian Party ticket includes two former governors, Gary Johnson and William Weld.

The chair of the Susquehanna Valley Libertarian party, Drew Bingaman talked about the recent convention in Orlando, Florida, “I was one of two here locally that were delegates to the convention. We do things differently than some of the other parties. We don’t elect delegates. People volunteer to be delegates and then other party members vote them in to be able to say, ‘Oh yeah, we approve of you guys to be delegates.’”

Bingaman says anyone interested in learning more about the Libertarian Party is invited to an event this week in Selinsgrove, “We’re going to have a meet up at the Selinsgrove Hotel. It’s just a casual event, but anyone that’s liberty oriented, liberty minded, doesn’t matter what your party registration is, just come hang out and talk. Ultimately, we are looking for more people to get involved.”

The meet up will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 29. You can find more information about the Susquehanna Valley Libertarians on their Facebook Page. Hear more from Drew Bingaman’s interview on WKOK Sunrise online at wkok.com. (Jennifer Wakeman)
