Valley Human Service leader Mike Breslin dies

HARRISBURG – A Valley man heavily involved in leading innovative human services has died. Mike Breslin, also known for his generosity and philanthropies in the corporate world, died Friday. Breslin began his career in human services in Northumberland County. He served as a case worker and then a Juvenile Probation Officer for Children and Youth Services. Breslin then served as the Administrator for Northumberland County Mental Health/Mental Retardation/Drug and Alcohol Program. He was also Director of Human Services for the county. County Commisioners at the time said he was a visionary innovator in his field.

Along with serving on other national, local and state boards, Breslin was also involved with the United Way Central Region. Breslin was 68 years old. (Matt Catrillo)
