Valley fire departments converge on Union County barn fire

KELLY TOWNSHIP — Volunteer fire departments from three counties responded to a four alarm barn fire in Union County Saturday evening.  The barn on Crossroads Drive in Kelly Township was destroyed.

Volunteers were called at 6:13 pm, including Milton, Mifflinburg, and Pottsgrove. Companies in Lycoming and Snyder counties were also summoned.

The cause of the fire is unknown. County communications told WKOK that the fire is not suspicious, and that a state police Fire Marshall will be on the scene to determine the cause on Monday.

The scene was cleared at 1:36 a.m. No injuries were reported, and officials say one calf perished in the blaze.
