SUNBURY – NorthcentralPA.com is reporting. A unity rally is planned in Sunbury for this Saturday as a counter demonstration to an unauthorized group of “White Lives Matter” protestors.
Last weekend, a group of masked individuals — holding a banner that read “One race, one nation, end immigration,” “white lives matter,” and waiving Nazi and Neo Nazi American flags — stood at the intersection of Market Street and Front St. in downtown Sunbury.
This weekend’s unity rally is permitted, however, and will take place in the exact same spot as the White Lives Matter demonstration. Sunbury resident and community leader, Victoria Rosencrans, is planning the unity rally.
“The event will be a peaceful stand-in,” said Rosencrans in a video on her community news focused facebook page, Stay Sunbury Informed and Beyond. “This is a rally to answer back the masked fellows that came into our city last week.”
