PA Jobless Rate Stays at 8.4%, Initial Filings Rising Slowly

HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry Friday released its preliminary employment situation report for October 2024.

Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate was unchanged over the month at 3.4% in October.

Also, initial filings for unemployment are rising across Pennsylvania. That’s according to the U.S. Department of Labor, which says for the week ending November 9, more than eleven-thousand-500 initial filings for unemployment were filed in Pennsylvania.

That number is more than one-thousand higher than the week prior.
