WASHINGTON, D.C. – Valley U.S. Congressman Fred Keller (R-12th, Kreamer) is leading a challenge to President Joe Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate. Congressman Keller says he, Indiana Senator Mike Braun and other house and senate members are introducing legislation to formally disapprove and nullify the vaccine mandate on private employees. Keller says the legislation invokes the Congressional Review Act, an official process for Congress to eliminate an executive branch rule.
Keller says this week, President Biden is expected to issue an Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) to officially mandate vaccination requirements for employees at private businesses with more than 100 employees. The rule will affect more than 80 million Americans and impose $14,000 fines for those who don’t comply.
Keller says the ETS is a ‘highly inappropriate invasion’ of what should be a personal medical decision, threatens to worsen the current labor shortage, and further disrupt supply chains.
