Two Snyder County men arrested in connection with drug ring

FEAT_HANDCUFF_GENERIC1SUNBURY – Two Selinsgrove men have been charged for their involvement in a seven county drug ring broken up the state police and the FBI.  47-year-old Joseph Newtown and 43-year-old Michael Sanders were two of 14 people indicted by a federal grand jury on Wednesday.

 

According to a press release by U.S. Attorney Peter Smith, the drug ring involved cocaine and methamphetamine distribution.  The drugs were sold in Northumberland and Snyder Counties and along with six other counties in Pennsylvania.  The ring was operated over a 14-month time frame, starting in December of 2014.  (Ali Stevens)
