LEWISBURG – Two people were hurt in a crash in Union County Monday night. State police say 27-year-old Stephen Shive of Mifflinburg was traveling west on Jones Mountain Road and lost control of his vehicle.
The car left the road and struck a large rock and a large tree. Shive was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained moderate injuries. Police say his passenger, 25-year-old Jacob Kistler of Lewisburg, was leaning partially out of the passenger window when the crash occurred and was ejected from the car. He sustained a serious leg injury. Shive was treated and released from Evangelical Community Hospital. Kistler was transported to Geisinger Medical Center and a condition is not yet available.
The crash took place just before midnight in Lewis Township, Union County. (Ali Stevens)
