Two contested race in Snyder County primary

Snyder Co CourthouseMIDDLEBURG – There are two county-wide races in the spring primary election in Snyder County Tuesday.

 

There are five candidates for Snyder County Commissioner.  On the Republican ballot, voters can select two of the three candidates. Those candidates are incumbents Malcolm Derk and Joe Kantz along with challenger Elizabeth Paige of Monroe Township.  The Democratic candidates are Naomi Hoffman and incumbent Peggy Chamberlain-Roup, who will both move on to the general election.

 

There are three candidates for Snyder County sheriff.  They are Tony Jordan, Catherine Reid and John Zechman.  They are all running as Republicans and there are no Democratic candidates.  Sheriff Joseph Reigle is retiring.  (Ali Stevens)
