Turbotville man jailed after threatening to burn down a house

TURBOTVILLE – A Turbotville man faces multiple charges after state police say he threatened to burn down his home on Hockley Hill Road.  56-year-old Dwayne Ellis allegedly was arguing with a woman and retrieved a gasoline can and poured gasoline over the kitchen and living room floor.  He threatened the woman he would burn down the home and said he would kill a 19-year-old in the  home if he attempted to intervene.

 

Ellis was taken into custody as he left the home with another full gasoline can on Sunday morning.  He was arraigned on charges including risking a catastrophe, arson, terroristic threats and simple assault.  Ellis was sent to Snyder County Prison on $150,000.  The victims were not harmed.  (Ali Stevens)
