Three homeless after Union County fire

MAZEPPA – Three people are  homeless after a fire Sunday afternoon at a mobile home in Union County.  The fire started around 4:15 p.m. at 18 Roger Lane near Mazeppa.

Three people living in the home escaped unharmed.  The American Red Cross is assisting the residents with food, clothing and temporary shelter.

The mobile home was destroyed by the fire. Mifflinburg, White Deer Township and William Cameron volunteer firefighters were on the scene for about two hours in bitter cold temperatures battling the blaze.  The fire started in a bedroom, but a fire marshal will try to determine the cause of the fire.  (Ali Stevens)
