HUMMELS WHARF – The American Civil Liberties Union Campaign for Smart Justice is making a stop in the Valley next week. The campaign will be stopping at Marzoni’s Brick Oven and Brewing in Hummels Wharf Thursday, October 25. There will be a meet and greet at 5:30 p.m. with a speaker at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided and admission is free.
The campaign is an effort to reduce the United States jail and prison population by 50%. It’s also working toward reducing combat racial disparities in the criminal justice system. Speaking at the event will be campaign director Nicholas Pressley of State College. He’s been working to drive criminal justice reform throughout the state.
