Teen Charged with Threatening to Shoot Up School and Claims It Was A Joke

DORNSIFE – In Northumberland County, an 18-year-old is jailed on $75,000 bail after allegedly threatening to shoot up a school. After further investigation it was determined that the threat didn’t involve any school from this area.

State police say Braxton Morey, of Dornsife, was in a Shapchat conversation and exchanged messages with a juvenile who asked, “Who is all going to shoot the school?” Morey allegedly replied, “Me, me, me, me,” and sent a photo of an AK-style rifle.

When questioned, Morey claimed it was a joke and said the image was from the internet.  Morey is charged with felony terroristic threats and criminal use of a communication facility. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 18 before District Judge Rachel Wiest-Benner.
