LEWISBURG — East Buffalo Township supervisors approved a draft budget reinstating two new taxes for residents. The $4 million budget includes reinstatement of the fire hydrant and street light taxes which have not been assessed for the last four years.
The .07 mills street light tax will be assessed to all township residents and the fire hydrant tax of .08 mills is for those living within 780 feet of a hydrant. The total millage increase represents a $15 increase per $100,000 of assessed property value.
The millage rate on the general fund remains unchanged at 4.5. Supervisors expect to approve the final budget at their regular December meeting. (Jennifer Wakeman)
