Supervisor write-in candidate promising change

LEWISBURG- In East Buffalo Township, a write-in candidate for supervisor wants to change the adversarial nature of meetings lately. Matt Schumacher of Lewisburg is opposing current Supervisor Tom Zorn and says the township is in disarray. He says meetings have become contentious and the township isn’t well led.

Schumacher made a campaign appearance on WKOK’S On The Mark, “I would definitely be more open, and would put more of the facts out on the table, and make sure the citizens were aware before making major decisions within the township, and give input before making serious decisions and choices.”

Schumacher also wants to make big changes to how the public can get caught up from previous meetings, “I’ve already proposed that if I were to be elected that I would start videotaping at least the Supervisor meetings, and posting on them on the East Buffalo website for future reference and clarification and fact checking down the road. The minutes are very vague. You don’t get the details. You get the base points, but when you get into discussions of he said she said, you need to know the details.”

He also said township email addresses should be used for township business, not hidden behind the use of personal email addresses. You can hear more of Schumacher’s interview from On The Mark online at wkok.com. Election Day is November 3rd. (Matt Catrillo)
