HARRISBURG – A Sunbury woman was one of the people confronted by a gunman in Harrisburg Thursday, which prompted a standoff with police. 42-year-old Angela Troutman of Sunbury works as a paralegal in Lower Paxton Township and was alone in her office, when a man dressed in a black-hooded sweatshirt walked into the room.
The man walked behind her desk and asked Troutman where he could find the back door and asked for her car keys. When she refused, he pulled out a gun and pointed it at her legs. Troutman began to scream and the man ran out. Police say prior to the confrontation, the man, identified as 29-year-old Joseph Aldinger, kidnapped a man at gunpoint and forced a man to drive him to Harrisburg.
After the failed carjacking, Aldinger forced himself into a home and held four people hostage. He was eventually taken into custody after a brief foot chase. No injuries were reported and no gunfire was exchanged. (Ali Stevens)
